“Exercise to stimulate, not to annihilate. The world wasn't formed in a day, and neither were we. Set small goals and build upon them.”
- Lee Haney
Thoughts of the Week
As discussed last week, our habits are super important as they are the main indicator of what you can accomplish. When you set out to create a goal, be as specific as possible so that you are able to create smaller goals from it. These smaller goals are what you'll use to create your habits. The small goals often go overlooked, running 3 miles when you're main goal was 5 seems less significant, but in reality it is something worth celebrating because it is it's own accomplishment. The ultimate goal is to become the best version of yourself, mentally, emotionally, and physically. These three pillars are what make us who we are and each one depends on the other two.
Workout of the Week
Slowing it down this week with some focus on mobility and increasing time under tension. Start out with some hip sliders, then KB Ribbons, and finish off with with some kneel to squats. Have some fun with it, add weight to challenge yourself and scale it back it you need to. Take a look at the video for a demonstration. See workout here.
Recipe of the Week - Peanut Butter Cookies
Treat yourself every once in a while!
1 cup Peanut Butter (I used unsalted Jif)
1/2 cup coconut sugar (regular sugar is fine too)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Mix all ingredients
Roll into small-ish sized balls (I didn't measure because it's more fun that way)
Bake on 325 degrees for 8-12mins
