Weekly Catchup 2/14/2022 - 2/20/2022
"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live"
Thoughts of the Week
Our bodies are incredible, doing everything that we ask of it each day, with little protest. Yes sometimes we have aches and pains, but for the most part we are able to function without hinderance. It's what makes taking care of your body one of the most important things you need to do each day. Since all of our bodies are different, "taking care" of it will also look different for each person. Sometimes it's an intense workout that leaves you dripping in sweat and breathing heavily, but it could also be a gentle walk that gives you the time you need to clear your mind after a long day. Taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally allows you to be the best version of yourself.
Workout of the Week
This week's workout is a quick burning circuit consisting of two moves, kettlebell swings and jump roping. It can easily be scaled up to be a full workout by adding more rounds, but I used it as a finisher of an upper body workout. See workout here.
Recipe of the Week - Shrimp Taco Bowl
Taco bowls are super easy to make and require very few ingredients, meaning they can be prepared with little notice. I used another recipe from Fitmencook, but I added my own spin to it with some pickled red cabbage and spinach instead of rice. Recipe is here.
